Through the Municipal Agriculture Office and the Municipal Veterinary Services, LGU Loon protects both its people and its animals — preventing rabies, promoting responsible pet ownership, and keeping an accurate, real-time registry of every dog and cat across the municipality.

1. Data Controller

The Municipality of Loon, Bohol (LGU Loon) through its Veterinary Services Office acts as the Personal Information Controller (PIC) for all data collected by LOON PAWS.

2. What We Collect

  • Owner full name, contact number, address, barangay
  • Pet identification data (name, species, breed, color, vaccination records)
  • Login credentials (email; password stored hashed)
  • Transaction and audit logs for system security

3. Purpose of Processing

  • Pet registration and vaccination record management
  • Public health monitoring and rabies prevention (RA 9482)
  • Lost & found pet reunification services
  • LGU reporting and compliance obligations

4. Your Rights Under RA 10173

  • Right to be Informed — You are notified of data collection
  • Right to Access — Request a copy of your records
  • Right to Rectification — Request corrections to your data
  • Right to Erasure — Request deletion under applicable conditions
  • Right to Data Portability — Request data in structured format
  • Right to Object — Object to processing of your data

5. Data Retention

Records are retained for the duration required by LGU regulations (minimum 5 years for veterinary records). After the retention period, data is securely deleted.

We implement encryption, access controls, audit logging, and role-based access to protect your personal data.
